Most important characteristics of the HUM Condenser Humidifier:
- For humidification during CPAP therapy, without the use of water
- Useful humidifier for travel
- Contains a filter that reduces bacteria and viruses
- Fits between every CPAP mask and CPAP tubing (with a standard diameter)
For whom is the HUM Condenser Humidifier suitable?
For CPAP users with a dry mouth or throat that don’t want to use (or can’t use) a standard CPAP humidifier.
When do you need a condenser humidifier?
Most CPAP machines come with a humidifier, which consists of a water chamber and a heating plate. This plate heats the water, which then evaporates and humidifies the air in the CPAP hose. There are also CPAP machines that don’t have a humidifier, such as the Transcend 3. A condenser humidifier (to be placed between the CPAP mask and CPAP hose) offers a solution. Moreover, a waterless humidifier is very useful on vacation. It’s more compact than a standard humidifier and you don’t have to mess with water.
How does it work?
During CPAP therapy, the air you exhale is already moisturised (by your own body). The condenser humidifier functions as a sponge and captures the moist. The air that comes out of the CPAP enters your upper airways through the condenser humidifier that humidifies the air. This waterless humidifier also has a filter function against bacteria and viruses.
