Not sure which size to order?
Please note: not all medication is suitable to be used with a nebuliser. Please consult your physician or pharmacy if your medication may be used with this nebuliser.
Most important characteristics:
- High atomisation capacity
- Including mouthpiece for treating the lower airways and mask for treating the upper airways
- The medication container has to be changed after every use
For whom is the Beurer IH40 nebuliser suitable?
The nebuliser can be used by children and adults with a cold, asthma or respiratory disease
Small and lightweight with a modern design
This handsome nebuliser from Beurer can be used for treating both the lower airways and the upper airways (nasopharynx) with the included accessories.
High-frequency atomisation with ultrasonic technology
The IH40 has two reservoirs: a water and medication reservoir. The medication container is placed on top of the water reservoir. This water is used as the fluid through which the ultrasonic waves are guided to the medication.
The aerosol generated by the high-frequency vibration has a predominant droplet size of 1–5 μm and is therefore very well suited for transporting the nebulised active agents directly to the lower airways.
Mouthpiece or mask
The atomiser can be used with the included mouthpiece or mask. Both a mask for adults and for children are included.
Use the mouthpiece if you are suffering from a condition of the lower airways, such as a cough or a bronchial infection. The inhalation mask is suitable for the treatment of the lower airways (nasopharynx).
Prescribed medication or a saline solution
In general a nebuliser is used with medication prescribed or recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. You can purchase the nebuliser itself without prescription. It may also be used with a saline solution, for example when you are suffering from a cold or allergy. You can make the saline solution yourself or buy it ready-made.
Breathing technique
It is important to use the correct breathing technique to ensure that the particles are distributed as widely as possible across the airways. To ensure that the particles reach your airways and lungs, you must breathe in slowly and deeply, then hold your breath briefly (5 to 10 seconds) and then breathe out quickly.
Cleaning
Check the filter regularly (e.g. after every tenth use). Replace the used filter if it is very dirty or blocked (but at the latest after 6 month). If the filter has become wet, it must also be replaced with a new one.
Moreover, the medication container should be replaced following usage every time inhalation treatment is carried out. With the successor of the IH40, the Beurer IH60, this is not necessary.
