Most important characteristics of the condenser humidifier:
- Ideal for travel: moistens the air without the use of water
- The filter reduces microbiological matter
- Fits between every CPAP mask and tubing with standard diameter
For whom is the condenser humidifier suitable?
For CPAP users with a standard diameter CPAP mask and tubing who experience dry air, but can't or won't use an active humidifier
Why the condenser humidifier?
Many CPAP machines are used with an active humidifier. Simply put, an active humidifier consists of a water chamber and heating plate. By heating the water it vaporizes and moistens the air.
There are circumstances where an active humidifier is not ideal. When traveling, it takes up space in your luggage. Moreover, you don't always have a power source or fresh water available. In that case, this condenser humidifier comes in handy.
You place it between your CPAP mask and tubing. The air you exhale, is already moisturised by your own body. This moist is captured inside the condenser humidifier (like a sponge). Your CPAP blows fresh air into your mask which passes the humidifier where it is moisturised.
On top of this the condenser humidifier has a filter function which reduces microbiological matter.
Use
Place the condenser humidifier directly between your CPAP mask and the hose; this maximises the humidification efficacy.
The manufacturer recommends to use the humidifier for 1 night only. However you will experience yourself after how much use the humidification will decrease.
